2024 Season Information

Season Dates:

  • Round 1: Week Beginning April 29
  • Semi Finals: Week beginning September 16
  • Grand Finals: Week beginning September 23

No games or training during July School holidays, and no matches on Tuesday May 28, Wednesday May 29, Friday June 7 and Monday June 10.

Competition Fees:

The Winter Competition fees are $280.00 + your Annual Membership Fee (Ages 8-11: $78.32, Ages 12-17: $107.19)


Age Groups and Allocation of Nights:

U12s: 2013 and 2014

U14s: 2011 and 2012

U16s: 2009 and 2010

U18s: 2007 and 2008

Game nights will be confirmed once registrations close and competition numbers are finalised.  The draft allocation is as follows (please note, this may be subject to change):

  • Mondays/Wednesdays: Division 1 of all age groups, and all U12s and U18s
  • Tuesdays/Fridays: Division 2 and below for U14s and U16s

Some other key information:

  • Each team will be allocated a 1-hour training session, coordinated with our coaches. Most of our training is allocated to a Sunday afternoon/evening at Broadmeadow Stadium but we are trying to source some weekday options for coaches who are unable to train on a weekend.
  • All players will be allocated to 1 team as per their age group from their date of birth.
  • Games will be played across three venues: Newcastle Basketball Stadium, Macquarie College and Hunter Sports High. The draw will rotate teams through these venues.
  • A singlet will be loaned to each player at the start of the season and must be returned at the end of the season. These singlets are owned by Newcastle Basketball and may incur a $50 fee if lost or not returned. Playing shorts will be available for purchase (as well as other merchandise), more information to come soon.
  • We rely heavily on our volunteer coaches and managers to ensure our season runs smoothly.   • Club Playing Shorts are a compulsory item (a playing singlet will be loaned to each player for the season). Please purchase your shorts here: https://newcastlebasketball.sportsclique.com.au

TERM TWO U8s and U10s Competitions

  • Registrations for returning players (from Term 1) are now open, and a link has been emailed to you.



  • Term 2 Competition Information:
    U8s START: Saturday, May 4th . LAST ROUND: Saturday, July 6th – 9 rounds
    U10s START: Thursday, May 9th . LAST ROUND: Thursday, July 4th – 9 rounds
    Program Fees: $125 per player, per term + Annual Rego fee’s.
    Annual Rego: Learn to Play (7 yrs & under) $9.84. Miniball (8-11 yrs) $43.32.

    Newcastle Basketball Annual Membership: $35 (all ages)
    Term 2 Skills Camp: Sunday, 19th of May & Sunday, 23rd of June (7:30am – 9:00 am)
    Note: U8s & U10s Skills Camps included in term fees.
