Training

The approach to training this year for West Basketball Club is that all of our U12 and U14 teams will be allocated court space for individual training. For our U16 and U19 players, we will be having a weekly session which will involve skills, scrimmages, mini-competitions and guest coaches. It will be at the individual coach’s discretion (for U16s/U19s) to whether they would additionally like to train as a team and the frequency of this. Court space has been a challenge this year, however we have sourced courts at Macquarie College on a Monday afternoon/evening, The Forum (University) on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and possibly the Stadium on a Sunday afternoon.

Uniforms

Playing singlets are supplied by Wests and are returned at the end of each season. Players are required to purchase club shorts at $25 each. These are available at Club Registration afternoon, during the first competition rounds or by contacting westsnewcastlebasketball@gmail.com

Our full range of our merchandise can be found here.

Player transfers

Players transferring from another club will need to complete a Player Transfer Form (with a sign off from their departing club). This form can be downloaded from our website.

Grading Days

This year, West Basketball Club will hold gradings for those players who would like to be considered for a Division 1 team (please indicate this by selecting Division 1 in the Division Preference field).  Division 1 grading will be held on Monday 30th March and Monday 6th April (if required) at Macquarie College. Times will be allocated between 4.30-8.30pm, information will be sent out before this date.

If you are wanting to play with friends, or at a less competitive level, please select “Division 2/3” for Division Preference and include additional information including players you would like to play with under “Special Requests” and you will not be required to attend grading. The registrars will endeavour to accommodate requests where possible.

Please include as much information under playing experience as you can to help our registrars form the teams.
